Suggest A Song Monday-Careful Where You Stand

So, I pretty much said 'eff' blogging last week. It was Spring Break for me and I was off work Thursday and Friday. But I'm back! I see some new followers have climbed aboard; what better way to introduce yourselves than in today's post?

Welcome back to Suggest A Song Monday. First, I want to give shout-outs to all who participated last week. I responded to all of you in the comments so check it out if you haven't already. Much love to JamaicanBellaDonna, Lina, Mrsmarymack, Vesper, Mista Jaycee, and Chanel!

Here are the rules: I suggest a song that I love and that I think you would love. You listen to it. Tell me what you think in the comments. Then, you also recommend one song to me and I will listen to it and tell you what I think. You don't have to limit yourself to a particular genre, just any one song that you love.

Today we have Careful Where You Stand by Coldplay. This song is special to me because it reminds me of when my husband and I were courting. Yes, courting. Anyhoo, even if you have pre-conceived notions of Coldplay, give this song a whirl. It's very mellow, and a little somber while still being sweet.

Careful Where You Stand - Coldplay

I feel safe/I feel warm/When you're here/Then I do no harm/I am cured/When I'm by your side/I'm alright...I'm alright/I am safe/When I am with you/And I feel warm/If you want me too/I am cured when I'm by your side/I'm alright/(Chorus) Careful where you stand, my love/Careful where you lay your head/It's true/We're always looking out for one another//I feel safe/When I am with you/And I feel warm/If you want me to/I am cured when you are around/I'm alright/(Chorus)/So I'd like a quiet time, please/Yeah I'd like a quiet time/(Music break)/Careful where you stand/Careful where you stand

I love Coldplay. My favorite song by them is "Yellow" for reasons of which I'd like to forget.

My suggestion is one of my current favorites from Musiq Soulchild's new album called "Moneyright".

For some reason I think of Andre 300 when I hear it dancing in the 'Hey ya' video, but I love the idea of the song. My husband promised me a new car in 2 years...when he get's his money right and my sore butt driving Chevy is really counting on him.

"Aoon as I get my money right I'ma take good care of you...just like I'm supposed to, baby you belive me don't you..I promise"

Hey Gem! I'm still rofl at the "eff the blog" comment. I hope that you enjoyed your Spring Break.

Since I can't find the official name or artist of the song I want to submit, I will list my 2nd runner up.

Jennifer Hudson's "What's Wrong (Go Away)". This song features T-Pain. I don't know about you but those two rendering a duet together NEVER crossed my mind. But they do it and do it well. The song's emotion puts me in the mind of Mother's Finest "Love Changes". Notice I said "puts me in the mind of". Only Mother's Finest does that song as it should be done.
lol

Well,I like Coldplay but I'm not crazy about this song. It's somber to the point of dragging to me.
I sorta need more upbeat tunes now so I have been playing my favorite soca album "Hot Zone" by Krosfyah. "Appetite" is one of my fave songs but I love the whole album.

Welcome back Gem!!!!
I heart Coldplay, excellent choice :)

My suggestion today is Angie Stone's "These are the Reasons", only because I am so in love with my man right now and can't stop listening to it because it reminds me of him so much lol (sighs.....)

would you like to write something for the blog? (the topic is yours... it could be short or long... it could be about haircare stuff or life-with-hair stuff)

MrsMaryMack: I like Yellow; and now I'm wondering your story behind it! I will check out Musiq; I haven't heard too much of his newer material.

CO: I did say eff it, girl! I just..couldn't, lol. That is a random combo but I'm looking forward to hearing it!

FlyGirl: It is somber; that's kind of why I like it. It's like someone is really weak and trying to let the other person know in a certain way. I have a sentimental attachment to this song; what can I say? I love good soca, so I will definitely check out Appetite.

Chanel: We have tix to see Coldplay this summer; should be fun. I really like Warning Sign. "And the truth is...I miss you!"

La Maravilla: You switched up the name, girlie! I see you over there being all romantical with your choice! I will give it a spin.

Tha Bossmack: ...Aight! Lol

Mocha: Thank you; much appreciated! Ooh, new artist/song for me! Will listen.

BGLH: I e-mailed you!

MMM: I like the feel of this song! Like a busy street at night with lights all around.

CO: J-Hud sounds nice on this song, but T-Pain definitely kept throwing me off, lol.

FG: I could definitely groove to this whilst on vacation, but I wouldn't have this in my regular rotation.

La Maravilla: This has a nice groove! Definite return-home-from-date-night-with-boo music. I like!

Mocha: I always appreciate when somebody is up on the new artists coming out! Very chill and funky.
